The 27-year-old Finnish international joined Spurs from Swedish club Kristianstads DFF in January 2022 and the player has gone on to feature regularly for the North Londoners. Summanen has plenty more to offer Spurs and she will now remain in North London for an extended period after signing a new deal.

After opting to extend her contract with Spurs for the long-term, Summanen said “I’m happy here. I’ve found my place at Spurs, and I think it was natural to keep going on that journey.

“That’s why I’m excited to stay here, to see what we can build on. Hopefully [we can] achieve big things.”

Summanen will now look to help Spurs continue to flourish under new head coach Martin Ho. The Lilywhites are enjoying an excellent season so far with the club currently competing in the top half of the Barclays Women’s Super League table.
