Tottenham face Wolves test with injuries shaping lineup

Tottenham welcome Wolves to North London on Saturday evening with injuries once again dictating the shape of Ange Postecoglou’s plans. Richarlison will lead the line for Spurs, as Dominic Solanke and Randal Kolo Muani remain sidelined.

Solanke has endured a frustrating spell on the sidelines. Having missed more than a month with an ankle problem, he briefly returned to training earlier in the week but has been ruled out once again. Kolo Muani, still waiting for his first Tottenham start since joining on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, remains unavailable after suffering a dead leg in training.

“I think it was Pape that ran into him, so I need to blame Pape,” Thomas Frank joked at his pre-match press conference on Friday. “So yeah, it’s very unfortunate. It’s just a contact injury. And it’s one of those where sometimes they can take a week, other times they’re taking a couple of weeks. Because he started bleeding again, unfortunately.”

Kudus and Sarr provide boost

There is brighter news for Tottenham supporters, as Mohammed Kudus returns on the right after being rested against Doncaster. Pape Matar Sarr is also fit again, with Lucas Bergvall pushing to reclaim a starting spot. Should Bergvall play centrally, Xavi Simons could shift wide left, setting up a direct battle between Brennan Johnson and Wilson Odobert for a place on the flank.

Defensive decisions for Spurs

Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven were given the night off against Doncaster but are expected to start against Wolves. At full-back, Pedro Porro captained midweek but is unlikely to be rotated. Destiny Udogie, fresh from impressing against Brighton, may edge out Djed Spence on the left.

Predicted Tottenham lineup

Tottenham’s expected XI against Wolves (4-2-3-1): Vicario, Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie, Palhinha, Sarr, Kudus, Bergvall, Simons, Richarlison.

Injured: Dragusin, Takai, Davies, Bissouma, Maddison, Kulusevski, Kolo Muani, Solanke.

Kick-off is scheduled for 8pm BST on Saturday, 27 September 2025 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
