Tottenham are two points off safety with four games left after wins for Spurs, West Ham and Nottingham Forest tightened a relegation battle that also includes Leeds.

According to NY Times, the picture is congested. Six points separate Leeds in 15th, Forest 16th, West Ham 17th and Spurs 18th, with Burnley and Wolves already down.

Spurs beat Wolves 1-0, their first league win of 2026, keeping the gap at two. For a spell they looked set to climb out when Joao Palhinha scored on 82 minutes and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall equalised for Everton, before Callum Wilson’s stoppage-time winner restored West Ham’s advantage.

Key dates loom. Spurs visit Aston Villa next Sunday and host Leeds on 11 May, then finish with Everton on 24 May. West Ham face Brentford and Arsenal next before ending against Leeds, while Forest’s best opening could be Newcastle at home.

Leeds’ run-in looks winnable and 40 points might already suffice. West Ham’s appears the toughest, though they may bank on beating Leeds on the final day. Spurs will eye their Leeds game, especially if the visitors are safe and bound for the FA Cup final.

In theory, Spurs could go down as early as 11 May if they take fewer than two points from Villa and Leeds and West Ham beat Brentford and Arsenal. West Ham cannot be relegated before 17 May if Spurs win two of their next three and results go against them. Any Forest or Leeds drop would be settled on 24 May.
