L’Équipe report that Ligue 2 outfit St Étienne are poised to conclude the arrival of 25-year-old French attacking midfielder Mathieu Cafaro on loan with an option to buy from Belgian 1st division outfit Standard de Liège.
The player is understood to have already arrived in France to conclude the move – Cafaro will join central defensive signings Jimmy Giraudon (Troyes – free transfer) and Anthony Briançon (Nîmes – free transfer) and attacking midfielder Dylan Chambost (Troyes – free transfer).
Cafaro is under contract with Liège until June 2025 but has failed to make an impression, despite having a breakout season in Ligue 1 with his former club, Stade de Reims.
Victor Lobry today in Le Forez, who joins on a free transfer from Pau, signing a 2-year contract with the option to extend by a further third year.
