Sacha Tavolieri is reporting that Standard Liege are in talks with Christopher Antwi-Adjei to move to Belgium. The 30-year-old winger, who was born in Germany and represented Ghana at international level, is available on a free after his contract with VFL Bochum came to an end. Standard are looking to pick up players without having to spend money on transfer fees, making Antwi-Adjei an ideal signing for the club.

The winger has only ever played in Germany. His big move came during the 2017/2018 summer transfer window when he swapped Sprockhövel for SC Paderborn. In two seasons with the former side he had scored 28 goals and grabbed 21 assists in regional football. During four years with Paderborn he made 146 appearances and scored 27 goals with 17 assists. He was a key member of the squad that won double promotions, firstly to the 2. Bundesliga in 2017/2018 and then to the Bundesliga during the 2018/2019 season, scoring 10 goals in 31 games. After the side were relegated, VFL Bochum signed him for the 2021/2022 season. Antwi-Adjei made 86 appearances for Bochum, scoring six and grabbing 14 assists.
