Matchday 6 in the Bundesliga will offer a top-two clash, bottom-of-the-table six pointers, and so much more. In a league that provides excitement and goals in abundance, here are three things to watch out for this weekend.

Bayern Reaction?

Bayern Munich will be in Germany’s banking metropolis to negotiate a tricky tie against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Vincent Kompany’s side will arrive in Frankfurt on Sunday winless in their last two games. Following a draw against Bayer Leverkusen and a midweek loss to Aston Villa, Bayern are facing their first real test this season.

Despite dominating both of those games, there have been question marks on Bayern’s ability to kill the game off against stubborn opposition.

Frankfurt currently sit 2nd in the table and are unbeaten in their last six fixtures in all competitions.

Watch out for Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush. The Egyptian striker is currently the leagues top scorer and at 25 is just starting to show his true potential.

It’ll be a tough test for Bayern but if they’re going to be successful this season, these are the types of games that they’ll need to win.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Bayern Munich is a must-watch this Sunday.

Bochum’s First Win?

Bochum have a fantastic chance to get their first three points of this season on Saturday when they welcome VfL Wolfsburg to the Ruhrstadion.

Both sides are winless in their last three matches and are desperate to get points on the board and move up the table.

Bochum have registered just a point so far this season in comparison to Wolfsburg’s four points. However, Bochum have been showing signs of improvement. They’ve scored 8 goals in their last 5 matches including leading Borussia Dortmund 2-0 after 20 minutes last Friday evening.

If Peter Zeidler’s side can fix their defensive issues, Bochum will be more than capable of collecting all three points on Saturday and making the bottom half of the table even more tight.

Bochum have performed miraculous escapes to stay in the Bundesliga in recent years and you feel they’ll have to pull the rabbit out of the hat again this campaign.

In front of a pact stadium, this feels like a game that will have goals and one in which Bochum could collect their first victory of the season.

Friday Night’s With Tim Kleindienst

There’s a saying in football and in particular in the Bundesliga; Always watch the Friday night game.

Matchday 6 opens with FC Augsburg vs Borussia Mönchengladbach with both teams looking to move up the table with three points.

For Gladbach striker, Tim Kleindienst, it’s been quite the week. The 29-year-old received his first international call-up replacing Niclas Füllkrug who misses out through injury.

Kleindienst was the 2. Bundesliga’s top scorer when Heidenheim were promoted in 2022/23 and followed it up by scoring 12 goals in his debut Bundesliga campaign. Following his move to Gladbach this summer, the forward has netted twice in five matches.

With is confidence at an all-time high, you’d expect him to add to his tally before heading off to represent his country in the Nations League.

What’s more, Augsburg haven’t kept a clean sheet in their previous 8 matches. Expect goals to open matchday 6 in the Bundesliga.
