Leonel Picco levelled in the first minute of first half stoppage time with a right-footed strike from outside the box, but Remo lost 2-1 at Mirassol.
The Argentine midfielder timed his run to a loose ball before the break, stepping in from range and rifling into the roof of the net. It was a clean, controlled hit that changed the tone going into half-time.
After the restart, he imposed himself in midfield, snapping into challenges and keeping Remo moving forward. He registered six tackles, winning five, alongside nine recoveries as he patrolled the central lanes.
Picco also used the ball well under pressure, completing 36 of 43 passes and finding the final third six times, evidence of how he linked phases and kept Leão Azul competitive despite the swing in momentum.
The display underlines his influence at the base of Remo's structure, reading second balls and stepping out at the right moments to unsettle Mirassol's rhythm.
Leão Azul host Atlético Mineiro next in the league. Mirassol visit Cruzeiro.
