Pavel Sulc opened the scoring in the 38th minute with a close-range finish, setting Lyon on their way to a 3-1 victory at Monaco.
From a corner routine, he reacted to Nicolás Tagliafico's cross and steered it in from close range (38.).
After the restart, he doubled the lead, drilling a right-footed effort from outside the box into the bottom left (57.). Ainsley Maitland-Niles supplied the pass.
He finished with two attempts, both on target, and three recoveries across 81 minutes, a ruthless edge that left Les Rouge et Blanc repeatedly exposed.
Because Les Gones pushed their full-backs high, his movement between the centre-backs dovetailed with service from Tagliafico and Maitland-Niles, keeping Les Rouge et Blanc's back line off balance.
Les Gones visit Lille in the Coupe de France next. Les Rouge et Blanc travel to Orléans in the same competition before hosting Lorient in Ligue 1.
How high would you rate Sulc's performance tonight?
