Standout star's brace propels Wolverhampton Wanderers at Preston | OneFootball

Fer López struck in the eighth minute with a left-footed finish and later added a second to guide Wolverhampton Wanderers to a 3-1 win at Preston North End.

López opened up the game on a fast break, timing his run to the right side of the box and whipping into the top right after André carried the move. It settled Wolves early and set the tone.

He stayed busy after the restart, clearing the wall but clearing the bar with a direct free kick (57.). Then he arrived through the middle to sweep in a low pass from Thomas Doyle (82.), killing Preston's fightback.

The Spain under-21 midfielder finished with three attempts, two on target, and completed 48 of 51 passes. He also made 13 successful final third passes, repeatedly knitting Wolves' counters into chances.

Finding pockets between the lines and combining crisply, López kept Preston retreating and ensured Wolves controlled the decisive moments.

Wolves host Stoke next in the Championship. Preston visit Charlton.
