Federico Dimarco has nailed down a starting berth at San Siro as his own since returning from a loan spell at Hellas Verona in 2021.

Furthermore, the 27-year-old has established himself as one of the best wingbacks in European football, let alone Serie A.

Dimarco has played the full 90 minutes in three of Inter’s eight competitive matches this season.

Meanwhile, unlike his 37.5% full-match involvement under Cristian Chivu, the Italian star often fell victim to Inzaghi’s squad rotations.

Indeed, the former Inter boss made a habit of replacing him around the hour mark, usually in favor of Carlos Augusto or Matteo Darmian.

For example, Dimarco made 51 appearances last season, yet Inzaghi kept him on the pitch for the full 90 minutes in only 15.7% of games.

Moreover, the situation looked even worse in the 2022/23 season, with Dimarco being replaced in 95% of his matches.
