Former Chelsea midfielder Steve Sidwell has made a bold claim about summer signing Alejandro Garnacho after his performance against Qarabag.
Garnacho scored a well taken equaliser for Chelsea in Azerbaijan on Wednesday night, but they were held to a disappointing 2-2 draw.
The goal was Garnacho’s second of the season after he also scored in the defeat to Sunderland at Stamford Bridge last month.
Chelsea are said to be impressed by the attitude of Garnacho after he joined from Manchester United in a deal worth £40m in the summer.
The 21-year-old divides opinion, and there were a lot of Chelsea fans who weren’t happy with the club deciding to sign the winger.
Garnacho is competing with Jamie Gittens for a place on the left wing, and the Argentine certainly seems to have earned the trust of Enzo Maresca.

Garnacho scored his first Chelsea goal against Sunderland.
The Argentina international has started Chelsea’s last four Premier League games, and has scored twice in nine appearances in all competitions.
Garnacho clearly has ability, it just needs to be unlocked on a more consistent basis, but Sidwell has claimed he’s one of the best in Europe.
“Chelsea fans are crying out to see the real Garnacho because he has got some talent,” he said as quoted on X.com.
“We’ve seen it there, and we need to see it more in a Chelsea shirt. When he’s in form, he’s one of the best in Europe, that’s for sure.”
Whilst Garnacho seems to be in favour there’s serious competition for places in the wides areas, with Chelsea well stocked in that department.
