The Blades have been active in the transfer market to strengthen their squad and push for higher ambitions in the new Championship season.

They have recently secured the signature of Kalvin Phillips on a season-long loan from Manchester City, while also adding players like Matt Doherty and Romelle Donovan.

Sheffield United produced strong performances during pre-season and carried that form into the first round of the EFL Cup, where they defeated Mansfield Town 3-0.

The Championship side are expected to make further additions to their squad with the summer transfer window in full swing.

Sheffield United boss Wilder revealed that the Blades are still looking at potential signings but stressed that they must remain patient to ensure they bring in the right player for each position.

Wilder insisted that the Blades remain an attractive destination despite no longer receiving parachute payments, pointing to their strong support and the prospect of playing in front of more than 30,000 fans at Bramall Lane.

The manager further backed his squad to be competitive and also expressed his satisfaction with the club’s current position, while making it clear that he wants to continue improving the squad and building on their progress.

Wilder also praised Sheffield United’s pre-season preparations, describing them as one of the best he has overseen during his time at the club.

Speaking to BBC Radio Sheffield, he said: “There are some players we are looking at.

“We have to be patient with it, to get the right one, position-wise.

“Even though we are not receiving parachute payments, we are still an attractive club to come to.

“30 odd thousand, Bramall Lane, as we all talk about, a competitive side that I think will go well.

“I am liking the place that we are in the moment and I want to improve it.

“We have had a really good pre-season. I would go on record say one of the best pre-season I am setting myself up here.

“One of the best pre-season in terms of what we wanted to achieve that we have had in my period here.”

The Blades are set to start their new Championship campaign this weekend when they face Birmingham City at home.

Meanwhile, Ryan One has attracted transfer market interest from Rangers, who will need to fork out a huge amount to have a chance of signing the striker.
