The STJD's fourth commission ruled on fallout from Palmeiras 3-0 Flamengo, banning Carrascal for three matches and acquitting head coach Leonardo Jardim of alleged disrespect to the referee.
According to Globo.com, the Colombian was dismissed for catching Murilo in the face and was charged under CBJD article 254, violent conduct, which carries one to six games. Auditors settled on a three-game suspension, noting his recent red cards.
Flamengo will appeal and seek a suspensive effect pending a plenary hearing. Carrascal will miss Coritiba on Saturday anyway due to Colombia duty, with the remaining two games, against Chapecoense and São Paulo, to be served after the World Cup. Club lawyer João Marcello Costa said recurrence weighed most.
Jardim had been cited under article 258, item II, for a disrespectful complaint after criticising officiating in his press conference. Prosecutors said he impugned referee Davi de Oliveira Lacerda with claims it was easy to dismiss Flamengo players and that calls favoured one colour.
Absent while leading training, Jardim sent a video arguing his remarks were an ironic reply to a pre-match line from the Palmeiras coach, not a personal attack on the official. The panel unanimously cleared him.
Massage therapist Fernando Munhoz denied threatening the officials at half-time, saying he referred only to not leaving the stadium amid protests, but was given a 30-day ban and a R$ 10,000 fine. Flamengo were fined R$ 45,000 over objects thrown and the late melee.
