The STJD has rejected Palmeiras' appeal and upheld left-back Arthur's second yellow card, so he remains suspended and will miss Botafogo on Sunday.

According to Globo.com, the club sought to annul the caution, arguing mistaken identity and claiming Lucas Evangelista committed the foul.

They argued that, since VAR is authorised to correct decisions after rule changes, it should have recommended a review, and that the lack of intervention resulted in the wrong player being identified.

The tribunal unanimously dismissed the appeal as unfounded, maintaining the second booking and, by extension, the red card and suspension for the next round.

Prosecutor General Marcelo Doval cited Article 58 B of the Brazilian Sports Justice Code, stating the regulations do not permit the STJD to remove a card.

Vice-president Luiz Felipe Bulus Alves Ferreira said that even if the caution had been clearly mistaken, it would still not be for the court to withdraw it, and he confirmed the decision at the end of the session.
