The STJD has suspended Admar Lopes and Felipe Loureiro for 15 days after incidents during Vasco’s 1-0 win over Vitória in the Copa do Brasil quarter-final first leg. Daniel Félix and Nelcírio Franchin received the same sanction, and the club was fined R$ 20,000 for cups thrown by supporters.

According to Globo.com, the case arose from events recorded in the match report following Cauan Barros’s first-half dismissal at São Januário, which led to a confrontation at half-time between Vasco staff and the officiating team.

Referee Matheus Delgado Candançan wrote that Daniel Félix, Vasco’s performance coordinator, approached the officials in a coarse and offensive manner as they headed to the dressing room.

A staff member identified as a club security then moved towards the referees and shouted insults, before being restrained by police.

The report also noted cups containing liquids and ice being thrown at the match officials from the section housing Vasco supporters.

Vasco’s lawyer, Pedro Henrique Moreira, argued the complaint showed a gross refereeing error, noting that Barros was sent off but not charged. He also criticised Candançan over the dismissal and an alleged first-half penalty incident involving Spinelli.

The tribunal had initially charged the club and five staff members over the occurrences.
