Stoke City attacker Sorba Thomas has emerged as one of the ‘most promising candidates’ for Serie A side Genoa this summer as they look for a winger.
The Potters are at major risk of losing Thomas this summer, something which would see one of last term’s standout performers for the club walk out of the door.
There has been serious interest from Championship new boys West Ham United, though any prospect of an urgent move was played down in east London.
Thomas is viewed as just one potential option for West Ham, easing the pressure on Stoke.
However, the Potters may soon have to deal with an approach from Italy’s Serie A for Thomas, as he is on Genoa’s radar.

According to Italian outlet Il Secolo XIX (via Tutto Mercato Web), Thomas is one of ‘the most promising candidates’ to come in and strengthen the flank for Genoa.
Genoa want to sign a winger who has pace and is unpredictable in the final third – and they think Thomas fits the bill.
The 27-year-old enhanced his reputation after producing the most prolific league campaign of his career, where he had 23 goal involvements across 45 league appearances.
It has been suggested that Stoke value the Wales international at more than £10m, with his impressive performances expected to attract significant interest.

Whether Genoa would be prepared to meet Stoke’s asking price remains to be seen, but the idea of a move to Italy’s Serie A is one that could well appeal to Thomas.
Genoa finished a lowly 16th in Serie A last term and are determined to climb the table under coach Roma legend Daniele De Rossi.
Stoke are due to get their competitive action under way this coming Saturday when they welcome Oldham Athletic in the EFL Cup.
