According to Sky Sports, French side Strasbourg are among several European clubs keeping a close watch on Fabio Carvalho’s (23) situation at Brentford, as the Portuguese forward continues to seek consistent game time in the Premier League.

Strasbourg, owned by BlueCo, the same consortium that controls Chelsea, have maintained a long-term interest in Carvalho, having explored potential moves in each of the last two transfer windows. Although Brentford made clear in the summer that the 23-year-old was not available for transfer, the player’s lack of minutes has reignited speculation over his future.

Lyon and Stuttgart are also understood to be monitoring developments, aware that Carvalho has struggled to break into Keith Andrews’ starting lineup amid fierce competition in Brentford’s attacking ranks. The excellent form of Mikkel Damsgaard and others has limited his opportunities, despite flashes of quality, including a crucial equaliser in September’s 1-1 draw against Chelsea.

Andrews, however, has urged patience. “I’ve got a really good relationship with Fabio where he trusts me and knows that I believe in him,” the Brentford head coach said. “I’ve just asked for a little bit of patience because I truly believe he will be a big player for this club.”

Since that Chelsea performance, Carvalho has featured sparingly in the league, though he impressed in the Carabao Cup, scoring in the win over Bournemouth. Whether Brentford’s belief in him holds through January could define the next chapter of his promising but uncertain career.
