Strasbourg links with Brentford’s Fábio Carvalho refuted | OneFootball

RC Strasbourg Alsace are long-term admirers of Brentford forward Fábio Carvalho (23), but suggestions that he may join the Ligue 1 side during the January transfer window may be far from the mark, according to a report from L’Équipe.

Strasbourg have been interested in signing Carvalho since the start of the calendar year, however, Brentford have previously refused to sell the forward. But in the opening weeks of this season, the forward has seen his game time limited, and whilst he came off the bench to register a last-minute equaliser against Chelsea earlier in the season, he has so far registered less than 100 minutes of Premier League football.

That comes after Keith Andrews insisted that the former Liverpool and Fulham man was a part of his plans. But according to Sky Sports, Strasbourg, in light of the player’s limited game time, were plotting a January move. The publication also noted interest from Olympique Lyonnais and VfB Stuttgart.

However, L’Équipe have described reports linking Carvalho with a January move to the Meinau as “seemingly false”.
