Strasbourg have signed centre-back Karim Coulibaly from Werder Bremen for €20m on a five-year deal, the club announced on Friday, the opening day of Ligue 1.
A few weeks after pulling out of a move for Ibrahima Ba, Strasbourg have secured the first-choice centre-half they were targeting.

The 19-year-old Germany Under-21 international made 27 Bundesliga appearances last season.
Coulibaly represents Strasbourg's principal defensive addition of the window.
The transfer takes Racing's summer spend to about €70m, set against €170m in income.
