The international break comes at a very positive time for Gian Piero Gasperini’s Roma, who are still undefeated in this first month of the season and have conceded only four goals in six matches between Serie A and the Champions League.

The Giallorossi lead the league with 13 points, tied with Inter and Lazio, and on October 11th they face a tough away match at Sinigaglia in Como against Fabregas’s men. The Roma side’s positive form is clear for all to see, even for a long-time member of the Giallorossi midfield.

Kevin Strootman spoke about his former team in an interview with Il Tempo: “Gasperini is working very well. Roma have had a really strong start to the season, and I hope they can continue like this. They’ve had great matches, playing quite well. The important thing now is to continue on this path.”

Regarding compatriot Malen, Strootman had this to say: “We haven’t played together much, but I’ve known him for a long time, and he’s a very strong striker. He performed well both in Germany and England, even if he wasn’t always a starter. In Rome, however, he’s found a lot of confidence, thanks above all to the coach, and he’s doing very well.”

“The difference is also noticeable in the national team. He has great quality and spectacular speed. I think Roma is the right team for him; he feels important and is proving it. I’m not entirely surprised by his performances, even though no one probably expected such an impact. I hope he continues like this.”
