Subs strike late as Sparta pegged back by Zwolle

Sparta Rotterdam 1-1 PEC Zwolle as late substitutes cancelled each other out, keeping Sparta seventh and Zwolle 13th in the Eredivisie table.

In the 83rd minute, Mitchell Van Bergen struck the post and Milan Zonneveld tapped in from close range to put Sparta ahead. Two minutes later, Kaj de Rooij levelled (85.) from Younes Namli's pass. It was Zonneveld's first goal for the club.

Joël Drommel kept Sparta in it with five saves, notably thwarting Namli as Zwolle pushed. At the other end, Tom de Graaff made six stops, twice denying Van Bergen.

Both scorers had only just come on, with Zonneveld introduced in the 80th minute and de Rooij in the 81st. In second half stoppage time, Patrick van Aanholt saw a drive blocked and Casper Terho headed wide from close range.

Sparta visit Ajax next. Zwolle host Groningen.
