Tom Bradshaw joins Rotherham on free before Albion cup opener | OneFootball

Tom Bradshaw has signed for Rotherham United on a free transfer, arriving ahead of Saturday evening’s EFL Cup first-round tie against Albion.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the 34-year-old has agreed a one-year deal with an option of a further 12 months after leaving relegated Championship side Oxford, where he spent 18 months at the Kassam Stadium.

The eight-cap former Wales international finished last season on loan at Barnsley in League One, scoring twice against his new club. He links up with fellow new forwards Paul Mullin and Fabio Tavares.

Shrewsbury-born, he first made his name at Salop during a League Two promotion, then struck seven in League One in 2013/14 to earn a move to rivals Walsall. He hit 17 goals in each of two seasons there, reaching the EFL Trophy final and the play-offs, and won senior Wales recognition.

A 2016 switch to Barnsley preceded six years at Millwall from 2019. Despite injuries, he scored 17 Championship goals for the Lions in 2022/23 and has more than 500 appearances and 126 career goals.

“To have the experience of Tom and Mulls up top will be huge,” said Millers boss Alex Bruce, son of former Albion and Villa boss Steve and also a previous backroom coach at The Hawthorns.

Rotherham impressed in Tuesday’s 1-1 friendly draw against Derby.
