Sunderland and Leeds United are among clubs linked with Liverpool attacker Harvey Elliott. Football Insider reports that Liverpool could consider selling this summer if the 23-year-old fails to impress new head coach Andoni Iraola in pre-season.

Elliott has returned to Merseyside after a difficult loan at Aston Villa, making nine appearances in all competitions without triggering the terms for a permanent deal. He is understood to be keen to prove himself to Iraola and fight for another chance at Anfield.

Several clubs are monitoring his situation should Liverpool open the door to a permanent exit. Alongside Leeds and Sunderland, Crystal Palace and newly-promoted Coventry City have been linked. His Premier League and Champions League experience appeals, although the finances could be a significant obstacle.

Valuations vary from €35m to around €40m, with €35m roughly £29.7m at current rates. Sunderland are expected to assess multiple attacking options as Régis Le Bris strengthens his squad for Premier League and Europa League football.

Elliott can play from the right, as a number ten, or in a deeper creative role, a versatility Le Bris values. For now, his pre-season performances appear likely to determine whether a transfer becomes realistic.
