Since taking charge as majority shareholder in February 2021, Kyril Louis-Dreyfus has presided over Sunderland’s climb from League One to the Premier League and into European competition for only the second time in their history. The revival features two promotions, including a Championship play-off final win at Wembley that ended a nine-year Premier League absence.
According to Sunderland Echo, his reported net worth is £2.8bn, placing Sunderland 15th among Premier League owners.
Newcastle United’s owners, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund and RB Brothers, lead on £723.3bn. Manchester City’s City Football Group is listed on £24.5bn, followed by Manchester United on £20.5bn, Chelsea on £19bn and Arsenal on £16.1bn.
Nottingham Forest rank 14th on £3.3bn, just above Sunderland. AFC Bournemouth sit 16th on £2.7bn, with Brighton & Hove Albion 17th on £1.3bn.
Coventry City, Brentford and Hull City complete the list on £317m, £280m and £225m respectively. The 28-year-old has been a visible presence home and away, and next season Sunderland are due to share a Europa League stage with AC Milan, Olympique Marseille and Juventus.
