The Lady Black Cats announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.
The 22-year-old defender has been with Sunderland since joining the club at academy level. Corbyn has successfully graduated to Melanie Reay’s first team squad and has made 39 appearances for the club in all competitions to date.
Corbyn has had a difficult season as a result of injury but she has still made a positive contribution on and off the pitch. She has helped Sunderland remain competitive in an ever-improving Barclays WSL2.
The defender is one of Sunderland’s most talented young players and the club have now moved to retain her services until summer 2028.
After agreeing her new deal with the Wearsiders, Corbyn said “I’m delighted to sign a new deal with this club. It’s been a tough season for me personally with injury, but I can’t wait to get back on the pitch and continue my journey with Sunderland.”
Corbyn follows teammates Jenny Blench, Natasha Fenton and Emily Scarr in signing fresh terms with Sunderland during the close season. Further contract news will be announced by the club in due course.
