Sunderland departures still possible for Simon Adingra and Abdoullah Ba after deadline | OneFootball

Sunderland could yet see Simon Adingra and Abdoullah Ba leave the Stadium of Light despite the Premier League window shutting on Tuesday night.

According to Sunderland Echo, the Dutch market closes at 11.59pm local on Wednesday, 10.59pm in the UK, leaving Ajax time to complete a proposed move for Adingra.

The Ivory Coast international joined from Brighton last summer for around £20.5million, then spent the second half of the season on loan at Monaco. Ajax have been working on a deal to take the 24-year-old to Amsterdam, with talks continuing late in the window.

There also remains a pathway out for Ba. The 23-year-old attacker has attracted interest from Sivasspor, and with Türkiye’s window open until Friday, four September, that switch does not need to be completed immediately.

Ba was close to joining Peterborough United earlier in the summer before that collapsed. He is under contract but is not in Régis Le Bris’ first-team plans. Sunderland concluded most of their business before Tuesday’s 11pm cut-off, though Florent Ghisolfi could yet oversee further departures.

Neither move is guaranteed at this stage. Sunderland cannot sign players from another club again until January.
