With the international break under way, here is how Sunderland’s current squad ranks by senior caps, from Trai Hume to Granit Xhaka, according to Sunderland Echo.
Call-ups include Brian Brobbey, recalled by the Netherlands, and Wilson Isidor, selected by Haiti after switching from France. Noah Sadiki faces a World Cup intercontinental qualifier against either New Caledonia or Jamaica.
Chemsdine Talbi has three for Morocco after a March 2025 call-up and is named to face Ecuador and Paraguay. Brian Brobbey sits on eight for the Netherlands and hit the derby winner at the weekend. Nilson Angulo has 12 for Ecuador and could meet both in friendlies.
Habib Diarra has 17 for Senegal and was part of the latest Afcon winners, although Senegal are currently stripped of that title. Sadiki has 17 for DR Congo. Lutsharel Geertruida is on 19 for the Netherlands.
Trai Hume is a Northern Ireland regular, scored in October’s 2-0 win over Slovakia and has captained five of his last seven. Dan Ballard has 33 for Northern Ireland and five goals. Omar Alderete has 33 for Paraguay and will be indispensable at the World Cup this summer.
Reinildo Mandava has 48 for Mozambique. Bertrand Traore owns 86 for Burkina Faso, with 21 goals and 11 assists, and he has eyes on Moumouni Dagano’s 34-goal record. Granit Xhaka leads with 143 for Switzerland, has played at six major tournaments, and is the country’s record appearance holder, joint-76th all time with Sergio Busquets and Luis Suarez.
