Sunderland are gearing up for a pivotal summer window after a superb Premier League return that delivered seventh place and Europa League qualification. Their schedule will swell by at least eight matches in the league phase, with AC Milan and Juventus among next season’s opponents.
According to Sunderland Echo, as the window opens on Monday, Sunderland have only confirmed exits, with Bertrand Traore, Dan Neil, Dennis Cirkin and Niall Huggins leaving at the end of their contracts.
Targets have been mooted, including Marseille midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, RB Salzburg winger Kerim Alajbegovic and Sweden defender Emil Holm, but no incomings have been announced.
Elsewhere, Tottenham have signed Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson, while Yves Bissouma departs at the end of his deal. Brentford have added Jannik Schuster from Red Bull Salzburg for £16.5m. Ipswich have brought in Chuba Akpom from Ajax for £7m and Cedric Kipre from Reims.
Newcastle have landed Ewen Jaouen from Reims for £18.5m and sold Anthony Gordon to Barcelona for £69.3m. Liverpool have seen Mohamed Salah leave by mutual termination. Manchester United have agreed Rasmus Hojlund’s £38m move to Napoli.
