Sunderland are braced for a pivotal summer as they look to reinforce a squad facing Europa League demands, with the window opening on Monday. According to Sunderland Echo, business so far at the Stadium of Light has been limited to departures.
Regis Le Bris guided a new-look side to seventh on their Premier League return, earning a Europa League spot alongside AC Milan and Juventus and at least eight extra matches in the league phase.
Sunderland have confirmed exits for Bertrand Traore, Dan Neil, Dennis Cirkin and Niall Huggins after their contracts expired. Potential incomings have been linked only, with Geoffrey Kondogbia, Kerim Alajbegovic and Emil Holm all suggested targets.
Elsewhere in the Premier League, Tottenham Hotspur have added Andy Robertson from Liverpool and Marcos Senesi from Bournemouth. Newcastle United have brought in Ewen Jaouen from Reims for £18.5m, with Anthony Gordon moving to Barcelona for £69.3m.
Brentford have signed Jannik Schuster from Red Bull Salzburg for £16.5m. Ipswich Town have recruited Chuba Akpom from Ajax and Cedric Kipre from Reims for an undisclosed fee.
Arsenal list Reiss Nelson as a loan return. Liverpool departures include Mohamed Salah by mutual termination and Ibrahima Konate at the end of his deal. Everton captain Seamus Coleman has also reached the end of his contract.
