Sunderland have secured the signing of Nilson Angulo from Belgian side Anderlecht.

The deal is worth £17.5 million, with the 22-year-old signing a four-and-a-half-year contract, including the option of an additional year.

The Ecuadorian winger began his career at LDU Quito’s academy before moving to Belgium for the 2022/23 season.

During his time at Anderlecht, Angulo made 93 appearances, scoring 10 goals and registering eight assists, quickly establishing himself as one of the club’s exciting young talents.

Angulo also brings international experience, having featured 11 times for Ecuador, scoring once.
