Sunderland ‘to reshape’ transfer plans as Florent Ghisolfi blueprint takes shape | OneFootball

Sunderland’s transfer window is accelerating, with movement around Dayann Methalie, Ernest Poku and Simon Adingra as Florent Ghisolfi and Régis Le Bris shape plans.

Bild claims that Sunderland are trying to tempt Bayer Leverkusen winger Ernest Poku to the Premier League, with the club open to a sale for around £21.4m. The 22-year-old Netherlands under-21 international is contracted until 2030, can play across the front line and posted six goals and 10 assists last season. Sunderland want another wide player after Bertrand Traoré’s departure, though how advanced their interest is remains unclear.

La Gazzetta dello Sport and Leggo report that Roma have shortlisted Simon Adingra after his Monaco loan as they assess alternatives. They add that sporting director Tony D’Amico admires the winger and views a deal as financially manageable, with Sunderland said to value him at about £30m.

Adingra is under contract at the Stadium of Light until 2030, so there is no immediate pressure to sell. TEAMtalk reports that several clubs have registered interest, but there has been no suggestion of a formal offer.

RMC Sport previously reported that Sunderland had reached agreement with Toulouse defender Methalie over a five-year contract. L’Équipe says negotiations are continuing after an opening offer of around £17m was rejected.

The Guardian reports that Newcastle, despite extensive scouting, have decided against making a formal bid, while Aston Villa have made an enquiry. That stance leaves Sunderland in a strong position as talks continue for the 20-year-old, who can play left-back, wing-back or on the left of central defence, a role needing reinforcement since Dennis Cirkin left.
