Lars-Jorgen Salvesen changed it in the 62nd minute with a left-footed finish into the top left, setting Derby County on course for a 2-0 win at Portsmouth.

He timed his run onto Oscar Fraulo's threaded pass and, from the centre of the box, guided the chance beyond Daniel Bielica (62.). The movement drew Portsmouth's back line narrow and opened the lane for the decisive strike.

Salvesen kept asking questions after the restart, meeting Alex Mowatt's delivery with a firm header that Bielica held (74.). Then he found space again to connect with Joe Ward's cross, forcing another save from the Portsmouth goalkeeper (82.).

The Norwegian finished with three attempts, all on target, and three touches in the area, a snapshot of a centre-forward who gave Derby a direct outlet and pinned defenders when the Rams looked to play forward quickly.
