The Supercoppa Italiana could be heading to the United States, though San Siro remains a live alternative as the Lega Serie A weighs its options.
According to La Repubblica, the match between Inter and Lazio will be played between 21 and 23 December, with the venue still undecided. The tie returns to a straight one-off format this season, pitting the Serie A champions against the Coppa Italia winners, or runners-up in this case.
Morocco had registered an interest in hosting but has since stalled, and may revisit the idea next year. American interest has not cooled, with a direct offer to the Lega expected in the coming days. Once it arrives, the board will be convened to assess it.

Should the game go to the States, it would most likely be staged on the East Coast, with the city yet to be determined. In the absence of a financially compelling bid, San Siro, home of the reigning champions, becomes the probable fallback. A definitive decision is expected before the end of September.
The format change is the more significant shift for supporters. The four-team version staged in Saudi Arabia in recent seasons drew persistent criticism at home for stretching the calendar and taking the fixture away from Italian fans. A single match returns the trophy to something closer to its traditional shape, even if the question of where it is played remains unresolved.
