Supercoppa Italiana final ‘before Christmas’ as venue to be confirmed at next Lega Serie A meeting | OneFootball

Inter and Lazio will contest the Supercoppa Italiana before Christmas, while the venue remains to be decided, said president Ezio Maria Simonelli on Monday.

“The date will be before Christmas,” said Simonelli. He told Radio Anch’io lo Sport. “There are hypotheses about the venue that we will reveal at the next Lega Serie A council meeting.”

The competition had switched to a four-team mini-tournament in Riyadh across 2023, 2024 and 2025, featuring the Serie A and Coppa Italia winners and runners-up.

This season it reverts to two teams, with Inter, last season’s Serie A and Coppa Italia winners, facing Lazio, the Coppa Italia runners-up.

Sport Mediaset reports that the most likely dates are Tuesday, December 22, 2026 or Wednesday, December 23.

Week 16 of Serie A will be played on the weekend of December 19, 2026, with the season resuming on January 2, 2027.
