FC Bayern is apparently pushing ahead with its internationalization and is planning a big step into the US market
According to Sport BILD, the record champions are working on opening their own Bayern Campus in the United States
The Munich club was already able to get a first taste of the plans during the winter break, when FC Bayern’s second team completed their training camp at the „Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center“, around 25 kilometers from San Diego. According to the report, it was not only the excellent sporting conditions on site that were decisive in this regard, but also the fact that those responsible used the trip for intensive structural discussions
Among others, the executives around campus boss Jochen Sauer were present. On site, meetings were held with the cooperation partner Los Angeles FC, with whom FC Bayern would like to further intensify its cooperation. This is exactly where the surprising plan comes in
According to the report, FC Bayern wants to rent the facility in San Diego permanently. The aim is to set up its own Bayern campus there. Specifically, U15 and U17 teams will compete and train in the USA in the Bayern jersey in future. This would be the first time the club has established a permanent youth structure outside Europe

The strategic advantage is obvious: talented players from the USA could be tied to FC Bayern much earlier without violating international transfer rules. The background to this is that players of this age are currently not allowed to move to Germany. By having its own local campus, the record champions would nevertheless gain early access to the US talent market and closely monitor the players‘ development
At the same time, the project is intended to further strengthen the cooperation with Los Angeles FC. The collaboration with the MLS club is seen internally as an important building block for FC Bayern’s long-term presence in North America – both in sporting and economic terms
If the plans are implemented as envisaged, the Bayern campus in the USA would be a first in the club’s history, sending a clear signal that the record champions are tapping into the international youth market even more and securing talented players for the future at an early stage.
