Swansea have announced the appointment of Vítor Matos as their new head coach.
The 37-year-old Portuguese coach leaves Marítimo after they confirmed Swansea paid a reported €1m release clause to secure his services.

Matos, who began his career in FC Porto’s youth system, later spent five years at Liverpool as their elite development coach, working under Jürgen Klopp and bridging the gap between the academy and the first team for the Reds.
He also had a brief stint at Red Bull Salzburg alongside Pep Lijnders before taking his first senior head coaching role at Marítimo in June 2025.
Swansea are currently 20th in the Championship having lost their last three games.
