Real Madrid are on course to suffer an untimely upset defeat as they trail Celta de Vigo at the Bernabeu.
A day after Barcelona secured all three points in an eight-goal thriller away to Real Betis, Xabi Alonso's troops needed to respond in front of home support in the capital, but are currently being scuppered by Claudio Giráldez's determined Celestes.

Despite their dominance and a host of missed chances, it was a moment of sheer class from Swedish midfielder Williot Swedberg that, instead, saw Los Blancos go down by a goal in the 53rd minute.
The former Hammarby standout produced a brilliant back-heel effort to beat Thibaut Courtois at his near post after getting on the end of Bryan Zaragoza's low cross into the box for his first goal of the 2025/26 La Liga season.

To make matters worse, Alonso's side would go down to ten men 11 minutes later when Francisco Garcia received a second booking just one minute after his first, only for Swedberg to go on and complete a brace before the final whistle.
