Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Besfort Zeneli is set to join Union St Gilloise. The 23-year-old Swedish international is having his medical ahead of a move from Allsvenskan side Elfsborg. Union, as defending Belgian champions, are looking to increase the competition in midfield and clearly see Zeneli as another worth investing in. Given the sides track record in signing players over the past few seasons, there is reason to be excited about the arrival of Zeneli. In many ways, given he has already been capped at senior level by Sweden, he is almost an unusual pick up for Union, given that he is a player that many have heard of.
Zeneli made his senior debut for the Elfsborg first team during the 2022 season. However, it was in 2024 that he really broke into the first team. During that campaign he played 44 games for the side, including 15 in the Europa League. Zeneli scored twice and provided five assists. Elfsborg had no European football during 2025, with Zeneli still taking another step. Over 28 games in league and cup he scored twice and provided seven assists.
