Big opportunity knocks for two of the lesser fancied teams
A place in the World Cup quarter-finals is at stake as Switzerland face Colombia in the last round of 16 tie.
Switzerland have not progressed past this stage of a World Cup since 1954 when they hosted the tournament, but appear well placed to finally clear a 72-year hurdle.
The Swiss topped Group B after bouncing back from a disappointing draw with Qatar in their opener, beating Bosnia-Herzegovina, co-hosts Canada and then Algeria in the round of 32.
Colombia, meanwhile, have been one of the more exciting teams to watch in North America, emerging as a potential dark horse to go all the way having conceded just once en route to reaching the last-16.
The winners of this tie progress to the quarter-finals where they will face the victors of Argentina vs Egypt.
Switzerland vs Colombia is scheduled for a 9pm BST kick-off on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.
The match will take place at BC Place Vancouver.

Denis Zakaria, who has been operating as a makeshift right-back, will be assessed after being forced off with a knock during the 2-0 win over Algeria.
Silvan Widmer is on standby to replace the the Monaco ace, but Murat Yakin is likely to stick the same team that started the round of 32 clash, meaning another opportunity for Johan Manzambi.
Colombia will be without Jhon Cordoba as he was replaced five minutes into the round of 32 win over Ghana due to injury.
James Rodriguez is also a doubt after being replaced at half-time, meaning Richard Rios and Juan Quintero are in contention for starts.
