Take Kubo has announced his marriage to Haruka Fukuhara while on international duty with Japan. The player said in a post that he and Fukuhara had married, sharing a joint statement on social media that spoke of a new chapter and thanked supporters.

Kubo started and played 68 minutes in Thursday's 0-0 draw with Ecuador, which Japan won on penalties to reach the Kirin Cup final.

Japan are due to face New Zealand on Monday. He is therefore set to be among the last Real Sociedad internationals to rejoin training at Zubieta.
