Sunderland will welcome Burnley at the Stadium of Light this Monday night as they look to secure a good result at home in the Premier League. The Black Cats suffered a 3-1 loss at the hands of West Ham United recently, so they would be keen on getting back to winning ways in the league.

Regis Le Bris will set his side up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make some changes to his first XI for this clash. Chemsdine Talbi and Habib Diarra could both play from the start of this game.

Defence

Robin Roefs will feature in between the sticks for the Wearside club after he conceded three goals in his last appearance. Daniel Ballard will function alongside Omar Alderete at the heart of the Sunderland backline as they look to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes.

Nordi Mukiele will play as the right-back, while Reinildo Mandava looks to catch the eye on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.

Lutsharel Geertruida will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Habib Diarra and Noah Sadiki will anchor the midfield for the Black Cats as they look to win the 50-50 duels in the middle of the park and create some decent chances in the final third.

The gifted trio of Chemsdine Talbi, Enzo Le Fee and Trai Hume will operate just ahead of them as part of Le Bris’s attack. All three of them need to combine well if Sunderland are to create enough chances to win this contest this Monday.

Simon Adingra will have to be content with a place on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second half if required.

Attack

Brian Brobbey will lead the charge for the Wearside club up top. He has to find a way to cause a lot of headaches for the Burnley centre-backs this Monday night.

Wilson Isidor will be named on the bench as he waits for his chance to make an impact in the final quarter of the game if Sunderland are in need of a goal by then.
