Midfielder Tammi George has rejoined her home town club Wolves Women as they push for promotion.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, George left in July last year to step up to Women's Super League 2 with Sheffield United, but after a short spell in Yorkshire she has returned to the club where her career began.

She joined Wolves aged 13, rose through the youth ranks and became a first-team regular. Apart from short spells at Spurs and Stoke, she has spent most of her career with the club. In total she has made 167 appearances and scored 52 goals.

George said returning feels normal and like home, and that time in WSL2 taught her a lot in a new environment. She feels she has developed as a person and player by stepping out of her comfort zone and adapting to different situations. She believes she can bring experience and leadership back into a hard-working squad and wants to finish the season on a high.

Wolves are top of the National League Northern Premier Division, two points ahead of Burnley, and are targeting a first promotion to WSL2. Manager Dan McNamara said bringing George back was an easy decision and that her elite-level experience, strong ties with the squad and supporters, and ability to slot in quickly will be valuable.
