Tammy Abraham says Aston Villa’s senior players have a duty to help the club’s promising summer recruits realise their potential.
As reported by ExpressAndStar.com, the striker is upbeat about the arrivals of Ibrahim Mbaye and Johan Manzambi, while stressing both will need time to get up to Premier League speed.
Mbaye has made two substitute appearances since his £47million move from Paris Saint-Germain last month. Manzambi netted his first Villa goal in the 3-2 win at Tottenham before the international break.
Abraham said: “Ibrahim is sharp and fast and can really bring something to help this team. He knows that. We need to help him, he is still a young lad. It is the same with Manzambi, who has just come back from injury. You can see the talent and the skill is there. We just need to help them bring it out.”
Mbaye and Manzambi are currently on international duty. The former scored Senegal’s winner against Ethiopia on Tuesday, with fellow summer signing Nicolas Jackson providing the assist.
Abraham is with the Villa squad on a warm-weather camp in Spain. Unai Emery’s side face Sevilla on Friday night, then return to the UK before hosting Brentford on October 10.
