One of the more heartbreaking moments of the 2022/2023 season was when it was revealed that Gent striker Tarik Tissoudali would be unable to join Morocco for the Qatar 2022 World Cup. the 30-year-old had just come off a 21 goal season in 2021/2022 and was set to join up with the squad that would go on to make history for an African nation at the World Cup. However, he managed just six games during the 2022/2023 season as the injury kept him out of the side and out of the tournament in Qatar.
However, in recent weeks the striker has shown he is finally getting back to his best form. Tissoudali has scored nine goals in all competitions this season, including an impressive five goals in his past four games. This recent run of form could see him join up with the Atlas Lions in January as they look to win just their second African continental title in the Cote D’Ivoire. Tissoudali will hope to add to his 12 caps and two goals so far.
