Tattoo Tour: The stories behind Becca Teale’s ink | OneFootball

Brentford Women defender Becca Teale takes us on a Tattoo Tour.

The right-back, who joined the Bees midway through the 2025/26 campaign, explains the stories behind her ink, from family tributes and personal reminders to the tattoos she simply loves for how they look.

What was your first tattoo?

"I did my whole right hand in one go in my first session. I loved it straight away, so I thought, 'I need to get my other one done!'"

What inspired your hand tattoos?

"I’d always seen women with hand tattoos, and I thought it was cool. They’re on show all the time, and so lots of people don’t do it, but I liked that it was different.

"I stuck with the theme of vines, so that goes all over both hands (A).

"Most don’t have a particular meaning, but I think we deserve stickers; we work hard, and these are my stickers to celebrate that!"

What is your favourite tattoo?

"My favourite is the birds on the side of my arm (B); there’s no meaning, but I love how it looks from different angles.

What is your most meaningful tattoo?

"The 11 on my right hand (C) is special. It was the age my first family dog, Lola, died. It was hard for us all, so that’s for her, and I have an ‘L’ further up my arm as well."

What do the two written tattoos mean to you?

"On the right-hand side of my neck I have the word ‘Balance’ (D). I think balance is the most important thing in life: relationships, football, work, food... everything.

"I also got the words ‘Don’t lose yourself’ (E) on my right hand when I was a bit down in the dumps.

"We all go through hardships, and it’s a little reminder when things get tough to just keep going.

"It helps me with football too. It reminds me not to take the things from on the pitch home with me."

What’s your next tattoo plan?

"I go to the same guy, Jack Callier, for everything. I’m quite spontaneous with it, which you could argue is a bad trait, but I don’t regret any of them.

"I’m booked in again in two weeks. One is a surprise, so I’m keeping that quiet!

"But I want to get my two collarbones done; nothing massive, but following the vine theme on my hands."
