Levante have signed Tay Abed, a 21-year-old Israel captain and right winger, a long-tracked target expected to bring pace and dribbling at the Ciutat de València.

He holds a Spanish passport since the age of 14 through his mother’s roots, and his new DNI finalised the move. According to Superdeporte, Levante paid 200,000 euros for 80 per cent of his rights and tied him to the club until 2029.

Abed declined a PSV renewal that ran to 30 June 2026, then was moved to the reserves despite taking part in first-team pre-season. Until mid December he recorded seven goals and four assists in 19 Eerste Divisie matches, before dropping out of their plans.

Levante had monitored him for years and tried to sign him in the summer, but PSV’s demands stalled talks. Six months on, the deal has been struck after fresh negotiations over the past month.

Elche also explored a move in this window, but Levante advanced for a young, EU passport winger with scope to grow in Spain.

Registered with the B team but set to wear number 55, chosen for its spiritual symbolism of leaving limits behind and embracing new opportunities, Abed now faces the task of lifting Levante away from relegation while developing his game.
