San Diego FC delivered late drama during Matchday 27’s finale, helping the second-year club place two representatives on the Team of the Matchday presented by Audi.

San Diego star Anders Dreyer capped his brace with an 82nd-minute breakaway finish, shocking Inter Miami CF in a 2-2 draw. Goalkeeper CJ Dos Santos was also stellar vs. the reigning MLS Cup presented by Audi champions, making six saves – several of the jaw-dropping variety – to earn a valuable road point against his old team.

Supporters’ Shield leaders Nashville SC became the first Audi 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs-bound side, courtesy of a 3-0 win over Chicago Fire FC. Cristian Espinoza (1g/1a) was one of three Nashville Designated Players to score and helped head coach B.J. Callaghan’s side remain unbeaten (12W-0L-1D) at GEODIS Park this year.

Behind braces from homegrown winger Peyton Miller and club captain Carles Gil, the New England Revolution pulled out a 4-2 win over Orlando City that vaulted them to second place in the Eastern Conference. Miller was fresh off his first US men’s national team call-up, while Gil now boasts a team-leading 21 goal contributions (12g/9a).

Vancouver Whitecaps FC newcomer Yadaly Diaby capitalized on his first MLS start, tallying 1g/1a as the Western Conference leaders cruised to a 3-0 win at Real Salt Lake. Colorado Rapids club-record signing Morgan Whittaker also starred in his first MLS start, scoring twice off Paxten Aaronson’s assists in a 3-3 draw against Seattle Sounders FC.

LA Galaxy midfielder Marco Reus came up clutch in a 3-2 comeback victory at Minnesota United FC, assisting on the equalizer and scoring the match-winner to send his team above the Audi 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs line.

Fresh off reaching the 2026 US Open Cup final, St. Louis CITY SC and the Columbus Crew both got clutch performances from defenders. St. Louis extended their league unbeaten run to 16 games, with left back Tomas Totland (1g/1a) helping secure a 3-1 home victory over Toronto FC, while right back Mohamed Farsi opened the scoring in the Crew’s 2-0 win at CF Montréal. 

Rounding out the TotM starting lineup, San Jose Earthquakes center back Reid Roberts provided late heroics with a 98th-minute equalizer in a 2-2 comeback draw vs. LAFC on Walmart Saturday Showdown.
