Manchester United have already made a couple of signings in the summer transfer window and there could be more additions in the coming weeks.

A new defensive midfielder is one of the priorities for the club and they could also pursue a new right-back, should Aaron Wan-Bissaka be offloaded.

According to The Times, manager Erik ten Hag is eager to sign Bayern Munich star Noussair Mazraoui. He believes the 26-year-old could unlock the potential of Antony.

Mazraoui and Antony played on the right flank together at Ajax and Ten Hag is keen to revive the partnership in order to turnaround the latter’s fortunes.

Antony has been hugely disappointing in his Red Devils career thus far with only 11 goals and five assists from 82 appearances in all competitions.

Ten Hag eyeing reunion with another Ajax star

Ten Hag currently has a number of players who were formerly with him at Ajax. Antony, Lisandro Martinez and Andre Onana all played under him in Amsterdam.

Martinez and Onana have managed to make an impact on the club’s proceedings, but the same can’t be said about Antony, who has struggled after a good start.

The Brazilian star scored three goals in his first three league games, but he has since netted just one goal from his next 51 outings in the English top-flight.

He has failed to live up to the £86 million fee and next season could be a make-or-break for him.

Mazraoui is a strong ball-playing right-back who has good attacking attributes. He created five big chances from 15 league starts last term, completing 90 percent of his passes.

He would be an upgrade on Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the final third. The Moroccan impressed with his link-up with Antony at Ajax and a reunion could bring the best out of the latter.
