Terzic has granted the Lions a short break after four demanding weeks, taking advantage of the postponement of their opening match against Barcelona.

Plans initially aimed at 15 August have been adjusted. From Friday they will hold two sessions, then face Marseille on Sunday 9. Spain’s World Cup contingent, Simón, Laporte and Williams, will rejoin afterwards and could feature in the final tune-up against Atalanta on 14.

They then turn their focus to Sevilla on Saturday 22. Results have been solid, with Eibar the only side to breach their defence across the six games. The two most recent wins, against Racing de Santander and Burgos, finished by the same scoreline.
