Terzic refuses to discuss rumours amid Athletic interest after Valverde’s exit on 30 June | OneFootball

Edin Terzic has been linked in Bilbao as Jon Uriarte’s pick to take charge at San Mamés, with Ernesto Valverde due to leave on 30 June.

"I have stopped commenting on rumours, whether they are true or not. I have not done it in the past and I will not do it in the future," he told RTL.com.

The former Borussia Dortmund coach, who has Bosnian and Croatian roots, has turned down several offers from clubs in recent months.

After speaking with Heynckes about Athletic, the few doubts he still had following his talks with Uriarte were eased.

He has also met Flick in recent days, who praised La Liga and what he knows of Bilbao and the club’s surroundings.

Terzic is now waiting to see whether elections are called at Ibaigane, something viewed as very unlikely for 8 May given the lack of opposition candidates.
